Spiritual Journeys: Spiritual New Years Resolution Ideas: 1. I will be a more forgiving person and learn to let go of anger and resentments. I will also be forgiving towards myself, and release any guilt or shame I may be holding on to, so that greater joy and compassion can enter my life. 2. I will practice "gratitude" every day and appreciate even the smallest blessings that are in my life. 3. I will learn to stay more fully in the "moment", not dwelling on the past or worrying too much about the future. 4. I will learn to trust more in "divine timing" rather than trying to control too many aspects of my life. 5. I will make an effort to see any mistakes I make as opportunities for learning and spiritual growth, than judging them as personal failures. 6. Yesterday on Thanksgiving I was called to do street evangelism, where God led me to Jennifer suffering at a bus stop near the church. This poor homeless woman, maybe 30ish, was barefoot in a tattered dress and had a small purse, and a baby stroller with a stuffed bear, some candy bars, and a bottle of perfume, her only possessions. I explained that I was not there for sinful reasons, instead, God led me to her to help her because he loves her. She got uneasy when I asked her if she believed in God, so I told her it was okay because I was there to help her begin her relationship with God. With tears in her eyes she accepted, and learned to ask God to fill her heart with faith, a method which worked for me when I was born again two years ago. She allowed me to put my hand on her shoulder while I prayed for her. She was penniless, so I gave her bus fare and five dollars.
